21
Ran five miles home,
A long sprint to hide my shame;
A longer shower
22
An empty vessel.
I won’t miss you when you’re gone
I tell myself now
23
Last look through the door.
My heart stretched to breaking point
To see you with him
24
A look, lingering
Slices through my defences,
Leaves my wound exposed
25
My sun and my sin,
Guiding me through moonless night
Blinding me to faults

You looked amazing

Aw, Emma, I feel as thought I know her… and you.

There has been a large portion of old heartbreak and regrets poured out here, but that was all pre-Emma… I’ll save the happy, cheesy stuff for her in person!

Cool! Leaves quite a bit to the imagination, which is as it should be! 🙂

That’s one of the reasons I love haiku so much – such word economy forces the imagination to fill in the blanks, and the writer has just three lines with which to fill their world

I’m impressed, Al. You do find your way around a haiku. Cheers!
