These are my contributions for Ronovan’s weekly haiku challenge – check it out here: https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/2015/09/28/ronovanwrites-weekly-haiku-poetry-prompt-challenge-64-tide-flesh/
The first is based on the closing scene from my short story, Adam. It’s not your usual zombie tale… https://altheauthor.wordpress.com/2015/08/24/adam-short-story/
#1
Necrotic zombie
Washed ashore by blood-red tide
Seeking redemption
Now, and entirely unrelated to this one, imagine you’re playing happily in the sea off Amity Beach. In the distance, some very familiar bass notes can be heard… duh DUN… duh DUN…
#2
Triangle of flesh
Rising up above the tide.
Time to clear the beach!
Heh heh…good ones!

Oh wowza!! I liked both…the 2nd one had me thinking of seeing the movie “Jaws”, way scary. I liked the 1st one because, though I’m not the least bit into zombie stuff, I LOVE the idea of redemption.

Thank you… I think a yearning for redemption is a universal want 🙂

I suspect they need it the most… 🙂

Well truly, they do–but as with most things, if one can’t acknowledge need, it’s difficult to receive the supply…

Both could be relevant to the Republican candidature games possibly. The first one maybe Donald Trump?? The second one could well be our recently deposed, (with tea Party connections) Australian Prime Minister, he surfs!!!!!

I had seen this prompt and because of time constraints i could not think of a haiku. And i decided to let go.
You have got two with varying diversions. I liked the second one more.

I struggled a little with this one too – part of the fun of prompts is knowing that they won’t always work for you!

Ahhhhh! Zombies freak me out. And sharks can be sweet just misunderstood, but zombie sharks. Get me gone from that watery nightmare. 😉
