I will be taking part in OctPoWriMo – October Poetry Writing Month – aiming to write and publish a poem every day this month. In my usual way, I only found out about this a couple of days ago, and have zero poems stockpiled… I like a challenge! Anyone can join in – you can sign up here http://www.octpowrimo.com/2015/10/octpowrimo-begins.html
Today’s prompt was “clouds”…
Chugging Steam Trains
Lickable Lollies
Oodles of noodles
Unidentified Flying Objects… flying
Dragon’s Breath
Scampering Sheep, fleeing the dragon!
Well, what do you see?

Thank you! This was a bit of a rush job due to family life, so I’m glad you think it turned out ok!

Isn’t it fun to be invited to look at clouds as an adult? Glad you’ve joined the OctPoWriMo challenge. Enjoy! I look forward to it every October.

Thanks Steph – it’s my first October one, although I did an A to Z themed one in April. Am looking forward to the challenge, and meeting new people who are similarly afflicted by the need to poetise! 🙂

Marvelous, marvelous, Al!! I had to laugh at your note that you didn’t have poems “stockpiled”–last night I was thinking the same thing, and grateful for the do-able prompt!

I’m sure with your “output” than “just” one poem a day won’t be a problem for you! Glad you’re doing this too 🙂

This was delightfully whimsical – loved it!
And yeah, let’s just jump in and aim for the skies – floating and dream in the clouds – watch as the thunder rolls by – struck by lightning inspiration; in other words … I’ve never done a poetry challenge – during April I too, was doing A-Z as opposed to the April poetry one by NaNo – hmmm …. or is that NaPo… yeah, that’s it …. anyhow …. good luck and thanks for stopping and “liking” – appreciated 🙂

Thanks Pat – you’re welcome! I combined the poem a day challenge with the A to Z blog challenge on a whim… Some of the poems turned out “alright”, and got to meet lots of people, so it was all good. Going to try more of the poetry prompts this time too, life permitting 🙂
