This is the blog of a woman who is seriously on the edge and I mean right ON the edge…no, not there… just a little bit further… further than that…no, further still…just a tiny bit more… just move slightly to the right a little…no, that’s too much…just move a tad to the left…that’s right, just there…now you’ve moved too far to the left… Damn, what part of the ‘on the edge’ do you not understand? Oh, and her matricidal boy genius, come devil spawn.

A splash of citric acid (lemon or lime) will help keep it from getting brown… Just my thoughts on helping to keep it “fresh” 🙂

Always tastier to add a bit of crunch in your salad of ideas. Ha ha!

Tell me about it! I don’t think any of the three lines are easily done!

Didn’t appear as though you struggled! Words of wisdom.

Great advice in so few words! Where is this ‘struggle’ you speak of? I know what you mean though, it can be a struggle leading up to the final cut that you publish. I really could think of nothing other than clean white sneakers or “fresh kicks” for a long time haha.

The struggle happens off the page… normally, I get an idea for a haiku pretty quickly. This one took a long time to bubble up. My mind got stuck on a 90s type “fresh style” of its own!

I know all about the off screen struggles! I think there was something very late 80S / early 90s about the word combination and took a while to ignore those immediate associations.

Definitely. Glad it wasn’t just me! Reading through other people’s haiku, no one else seemed to mentally jump there! Blogs are a strange window into people, very narrow… you have no idea that I’m sat at the laptop, sipping orange juice, and watching my two boys balloon fight in the living room, seemingly oblivious to my wife’s requests to calm down…. ah, Sunday mornings as a parent 🙂

Ha! Maybe they did, but it just didn’t make it for the published version. I’m at the other end of sunday been there done that with sunday morning HOURS AGO. Now, night has fallen, baby asleep and I’m trying to get things ready for a smooth monday morning, plus hoping to get 15 min to have a cup of tea and read. Happy sunday! No spoilers – but it’s a pretty good day 😊
