Welcome to another edition of The Dirty Dozen!
This is my spin on the author/blogger interview… This week, I’m delighted to be hosting Babbitman, aka Nick Rowe, in the Dirty Dozen “hotseat”.
Now this is an unusual, and particularly enjoyable, one for me as I have the pleasure to know Nick “offline”. I’ll let Nick explain it in his own words after the JUMP!
Nice to meet Nick! He sounds like a perfect match for you (writing wise). Looking forward to what you two cook up. What a team.

Thanks Annette. Team Notts! 🙂

Hi Annette! Yeah, we’re quite likely to come up with something constructed around Star Wars and Excel spreadsheets, so we may have to work hard to step away from the obvious!

How cool that you were pre-blog friends. Nice to “officially” meet Nick… Though he kinda had me with his Doctor reference on your limousine post last week! Working from mobile device – hope this comes through! 😃

Hi Meg! Yep, my favourite early Doctor was Peter Davidson and I’ve watched all of the new episodes since Rose. I got my daughters in to Doctor Who for that first Christopher Eccleston series and they freaked out over The Empty Child! (Eldest, now approaching 20, is called Tegan and wants to be the Doctor’s assistant!)

Oh I love it! I was. Tom Baker fan… I love that they rebooted the series and have been watching all the way, too! Wonderful!

The first Doctor I remember was Jon Pertwee but I much preferred Tom Baker. Did you get to see The Five-ish Doctors that Peter Davidson put together for the 50th anniversary? Very funny & well worth a watch.

Yes! Hilarious! I loved the whole bit with John Barrowman secretly having a wife kids and minivan! And what about the Night of the Doctor with Paul McGann? Loved his inclusion in the story for the 50th!

Oh yes, that was my favourite bit!
Loved the Paul McGann insert – I watched the TV movie when it came out. I really could do with seeing it again to be honest. I thought it was a reasonable attempt but many hated it. In my memory it stands up quite well as a precursor to the reboot.

And it established a few bits of ‘canon’ Moffatt had to address going forward, like the limit on regenerations. I can’t wait to see what Chris Chibnall does with the next series!

Oh, I’ve been meaning to mention that you may be interested in my first visit to my local writers’ group and the pieces of instant fiction I had to come up with: https://babbitman.wordpress.com/2016/01/08/the-writers-group/

Reblogged this on babbitman and commented:
Huge thanks to my dear pal Al The Author for posting an interview with me as part of his “Dirty Dozen” series of friendly interrogations of fellow bloggers. Almost everything you need to know about me is here (except the definition of ‘winklepickers’).

It hadn’t occurred to me at the time, but there was so much possibility in using that phrase with non-Brits… “yeah, it means someone who fondles men on crowded trains”…

Fnarr! We should definitely have gone with a weird false definition… 😉

What a great interview. It was particularly heartening to me to read how your blog has helped you as a writer. 🙂

Thanks Cathleen. I think the short reply is – the more you write, the better it will get! (That’s what I tell myself anyway 😉 )
