Haiku – Remember

Memory of us
Draped over me; armour’s grief
Numbs, false-insulates

Yesterday’s winters
Always colder, snowier
Rosey-cheeked glasses

Dad said, “Remember…”
With his final dying breath
As I held him down

  1. Took me all over the place. Thinking of my own dad, when I read the last one. He’s 80, lives a few hundred miles away and we talk every Saturday, it’s a date. I cannot imagine what it will be like when I have to say goodbye for the final time.
