At the bottom of the stream
Is where I’ve found my place
Nestled among sisters
As we sit and wait
Time has smoothed my edges;
Left me with its scars
Spending days in longing
Dreaming of the stars
And though we look alike,
I am beautiful, unique.
Take a closer look,
Am I the one you seek?
Until I find my home,
Hear my daily song
As fresh water trickles over me,
And the river sings along.

Great little poem, Al. Just what I needed to cheer me up! And what a difference between the wet stones shining in water and the dry stones, fished and brought home.

Oh, I’m so jealous. I’m in a state of perpetual scramble when it comes to posts.

This is the most organised I’ve ever been, by necessity. I start a new, full time job on Weds, and blogging time will drop dramatically!

Congrats on the job! That’s great news! (Sorry about the job).

I have mixed feelings too! It’s a great job, but I’m feeling the pull of writing… maybe this will help to focus my mind on writing in my evenings 🙂

Thrilled to hear that you will be working full time again. Your writing is going places and taking you with it. Pieces such as this, are securing their spots in your shiny, wet future. Woo Hoo! and to think, I kinda, sorts knew you when… (blushing and cheering at the same time)

Good poem, theres something beguiling about simple objects being developed into aomething more complex.

Thank you. They act as useful ciphers for whatever metaphors and meanings the poet wants to throw in 🙂

This is beautiful, so peaceful and uplifting. And I saw you got the job! Oh, you must be so thrilled and also kind of disappointed to give up your time at home. I know you’ll find a balance!

I’ll have to find a balance, or quit sleeping altogether! Thanks Diane x
