Beware! Beware! Beware!
The haunting time of year!
When chocolate spiders hatch,
Spreading candy fear!
You may think that’s just a costume,
A Halloween disguise
But take a second look:
Count that creature’s eyes!
Don’t think of trick OR treat:
To them it’s all the same!
Weaving caramel webs
Around your window frame…
Lurking in the darkness…
Hiding out of sight…
Then dropping down in front of you
Giving you a FRIGHT!
You yelp and drop your candy;
Sprint off down the street
Those spiders give a cackle
And eat up every treat!
Beware! Beware! Beware!
The chocolate spider scare!
Damn those creepy-sticky fiends. 😉

Like it. Are you doing one for the Halloweensie thing? I thought I might have a go. Watch this space. No, that’s wrong. Watch my space. As in my blog, not the abandoned social media thing.
Anyway, great spider poem!

Thanks, Nick! This is actually my Halloweensie from a year or two ago… hadn’t thought to check out this year’s yet, but will do now! 🙂

I love your spider poem and the same cute spider picture so as not to alarm the arachnophobics 🙂

Love it! Spiders (as I may have told you before… deja vu) don’t bother me since they eat the bad bugs. But they better not touch the chocolate! 😃

Ha ha, I thought THIS was your Halloweensie entry, but there was no moon or ghost. It’s still awesome! Hope you think up a new one before the deadline. Love it!

SO good! This had such a great Halloween rhythm! And that spider is pretty darn cute…but he better not steal my chocolate!

So that’s what happened to the candy bars! 🙂 Darn spiders.

Always blame the spiders… that’s why they lurk in corners so much. Clearly guilty behaviour 🙂

It’s a constant battle with those little beasties in my house.

I guess as long as they’re only little, then you must be at least winning the war, right?

Thanks Rita… although I fear spiders are a necessary evil (and therefore probably a bit more important than me in the grand scheme 😉 ) 😀

I know they play their creepy role in the chain of things but there is NO WAY they are more important than Al Lane. A cosmic impossibility!

Aw, thanks Rita… just written more Halloween spider stuff for tomorrow. Am worried I’m becoming obsessed! 🙂

LOL. There’s always Spider Therapy, though I’d had to think of you being caught in that web.

How could you combine something that I love more than life itself and possibly my own womb-fruit, (chocolate) with something that I hate more than the Kardashians? (spiders)
This poem is akin to cognitive behavioural therapy. Never will I touch another chocolate for fear that it may hatch…maybe…possibly…okay, I lied…
