Happy New Year everyone!
I’ve got some big plans for this year, and am going through some of the admin pain of putting those in motion at the moment… more details to follow when it gets more interesting! 2018 saw me publish not one but two books, headline my first poetry events, and perform at a host of wonderful events, in fields, barns, cellars, pubs and caves. Expect 2019 to have even more of this, but spreading my wings further afield from my home town of Nottingham. I don’t believe in resolutions, but if I wanted to describe my plans for 2019 in a single word, it would be…”BIGGER!”
Onwards, and hopefully upwards…
I’ve just started using the Instagram account I’ve had for a while, so thought this would be a good time to signpost to some of my social media links, for those who are interested.
You can find me all over!

Or on youtube
Haiku of the Dead, the essential guide to surviving the rise of the zombies in glorious technicolor haiku with dollops of humour, is available globally from amazon – just amend the specific amazon bit of the web address in the links below if you’re not in the UK or US, or search for Alistair Lane (there’s only one of me, it seems!):
UK – https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07K1Q8MKY
US – https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K1Q8MKY
And if you hate amazon, but are desperate to prepare yourself for Z-Day, drop me an email and I’ll arrange something for you… I’ll leave no blogger behind!
So if you had to describe your goals/plans/aims for 2019 in one word, what word would you use? Let me know below!
It sounds like wonderful plans are ahead in addition to this years amazing accomplishments . Wishing you all the best!

Thank you so much… sometimes it’s quite dizzying, other times like treading through treacle… a lot like writing, really!

June – not sure of the exact date, but we have to be in place and settled before the end of that month. Wishing you great success for your endeavors this year, too! It would be really great to meet you in person – maybe at a big book signing!

Happy New Year, Al! You, my man, are on the right path to achievements and success. Well done, and I’m sure a bigger “well done” is in the cards for 2019. My goals: publish my memoir, get a US passport, and travel internationally again. Not sure what all this is in one word. Expand? 🙂

Oh blimey, a word to describe the coming year? Possibly “new” because I really need a new phone and a new car (before it falls apart on me, much as I love it). And “new” is more optimistic than “knackered”, “obsolete” or “clapped-out”. Oh, and I will be continuing to write new chapters of The Ophagy and Fosseway Writers will be producing a new novel, so I guess it all fits. Happy “New” Year!
Did you see what I did there?
Congrats on the successes of 2018 and here’s to your plans to get “Bigger”. Hmmm. That does sound like something from a spam email or a desire to eat more burgers. I assume that your plans don’t actually involve physical attributes…

Haha, well if I were one for new year diets, it would certainly be time for that!
Loving the “new”… perhaps it’s more “next” than “new” though? These are all natural evolutions or next steps of things in progress – mentally, if not in reality? So in Apprentice terms, you’d be on “Team Evolve” or “Renaissance” or some such… 🙂

This is true.
I think a New Year’s Resolution for you, however, would be to stop watching The Apprentice. 😉

Haha, haven’t watched it for years… But it’s obviously made an impression!

I’m not sure that in itself is a good thing. A falling anvil can also make an impression 😉

Congrats on your accomplishments in 2018 and all the best towards more in 2019! And I still owe you £5 for Haiku–you weren’t at the meeting yesterday! For me in 2019, I am hoping to keep writing, finish stuff, perform, and keep a smile on my face (it tends to sag at times), and be organized!

I wasn’t there last night as I forgot what day of the week it was! It wasn’t until 930 when I posted something on the DIY FB group that I thought “oh yeah, I was supposed to be somewhere tonight…!”
Those are 5 worthy goals there… I would definitely echo most of them. I’ll try and help you keep that smile lit, anyway ❤

Ok, one word isn’t going to cut it.
If you’d asked me a few days ago, I would have said professional and financial stability (both on their way, if all falls into place, luckiky!).
Now, thanks to our friend Diana, it might be… book?
We’ll see!
Happy New Year to you and yours Al! And if your Bigger and wider takes you to a place near me… you know I’ll be deligted to meet you!
