Haiku – Dragon / Invite

A Prologue:

However friendly
The dragon in the woods seems…
DON’T invite them in

Creatures of fire
Scorching all souls before them…
DON’T invite them in

Before the mask dropped,
Revealing her true nature…
Guess what I had done?

Mum vs the Dragon (poem)

The little lad came bursting in
“Dad,” he cried, “come quick!
A dragon is attacking Mum;
She’s only got a stick!”

“Calm down, lad,” the dad replied,
Giving him a look.
“The dragon’s in with half a chance”
And continued with his book

A Perfect Proto-Dragon (poem)

A perfect Proto-Dragon
Came crawling from the cave
His manners were amazing
So sweet and well-behaved

We brought him home for supper
And gave him fish and chips
He ate up every morsel
Then sat and licked his lips

He coughed a little fireball –
It was an accident –
He was apologetic
But up the curtains went

Fire spread around the house
In the blinking of an eye
The dragon looked so sheepish
And mumbled a “goodbye”

So if upon your travels
You come across wee Proto
DON’T invite him home for tea.

Just stop and take a photo

The Dragon Dread (poem)

The Dragon Dread,
Brooding and red,
Sat and digested the knight.
It had been a short fight
Once he’d chomped off his head,
And now he was ready for bed

The Dragon Dread,
Feeling well-fed
Suffered the knight’s final act.
His intestinal tract, came under attack!
From all that armour, Dread bled.
Dread bled till Dread was stone dead
