Trying to write a scary poem
To get things off my chest.
So many ways to start,
I wonder which is best.
Do I go for ghoulish,
Or something more refined?
Do I make the horror clear,
Or leave it to the mind?
Then there comes the rhyming
Of all those scary creatures.
Zombie? Vampire? No rhymes.
Do I focus on their features?
And how to make things scary,
In the structure of the rhyme?
It’s hard to make the reader jump
When they can guess ahead in time.
Maybe I should back off.
Leave this one to the writers.
Poets are tender lovers
But terrible monster fighters!
Perfect ❤

Require rhymes with vampire. 😋 Zombie’s a bit harder… but it rhymes with a proper name related to me/my life… But in the interest of anonymity… I shall say no more… 😀

There are some rhymes, but they’re all a bit forced… on rhymezone (my bible), for zombie the best it has is this: Who will my escort for the prom be,
Now that the boy-next door’s a zombie?….
So, just for you, I’ll give it a go anyway 🙂
An undead young girl from Crombie
Wondered who her date for the prom’d be
All she’d require
Was a friendly vampire
Or at a push, a recently dead zombie!

I think I’d require the vampire… they’re sexier. Usually. 😄 (And I use rhymezone, too…)

Sexy zombies… that’ll be the next fad. Just wait and see!

🙂 Oh… and my son is going as Kylo Ren. I’m sensing a theme with him… he was Darth Vader last year…

Can’t fault the lad ! 😀

Let me tell you… when he first tried on his Kylo Ren costume and emerged from his room, he scared the crap out of me! Nothing he did… he was just walking out of the room… but it totally scared me!

I can imagine… do you see yourself as the Han Solo of your household?…

Hm… no… the Emperor. Hahaha… I’m kidding! But… according to buzzfeed, I’m Darth Vader… “You may be horribly disfigured on the inside, but on the outside you’re badass, and that’s all that counts.” My insides are kind of disfigured…. 🙂

But on the outside, you’re badass. And that’s all that counts, right? 😀

I would say that’s true. Provided I don’t do anything that results in a prison sentence… 🙂

Er…I’ll have you know I’m a very good monster fighter if needs be. In fact, most of my friends have stated (without being prompted) that in a Walking Dead kind of scenario, I’d have to be on their team because I’m fierce. So, there! 😛 😀

Absolutely! I’m good with a sword so that’s my weapon of choice. But we don’t have to talk about that now, the time will come and my house is opened when it does 😜😂

Yay! If you stockpile some biscuits I’d be first at the door too! 🙂

Biscuits? OF COURSE! And chocolate and wine. We’d all die because of diabetes before the walkers had a chance to get near us 😂

I know you were worried about having to slash monsters tomorrow. It’s ok. 😝 Be a lover, not a fighter.

😀 The pen is mightier than the sword is sort of true… unless you’re facing down a werewolf. Then – take the sword every time!

Yeah, werewolves require a sword. Unless you want to become one…which might be kinda cool…if you didn’t have to eat people… hmm. Yeah, bring the sword!

My idea of Halloween is candy, cute little costumed kiddies romping through the autumn leaves, leaping over jack-o’lanterns while sneaking a bite of their booty in between door bells… Yeah, it’s pretty Casper the Friendly Milk-Toast Ghost in my heart. ❤

Lovely one Al.
Here’s a feeble effort towards “sort of” rhyming:
It’s chilly work if you’re a zombie
So when in Britain wear a Crombie
Otherwise if you’re a vampire
You could join me collecting samphire.

Full marks for effort… I’m comfortable with avoiding them altogether! 😀

I think I’ll watch the Slayer
Stake some of the undead
I’ll learn her moves so I can fight
The monsters without dread
By day, I’ll write a blog post
Sip some morning tea
After lunch I’ll go out hunting
We’ll be vampire-free
Happy Halloween. 😉

No way! We just watched Halloween and Fear Itself last night. 😀 I LOVE BtVS.
“Don’t taunt the demon.”
“Why! Can he hurt me?”
“No…it’s tacky.”
We’ve run out of Halloween ones so I think we’re going to watch Hush and Band Candy tonight. Al… I should have known you were a kindred spirit when I found out about your Inigo Montoya challenges.
