Welcome to Day Eleven of your Essential Guide to Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. We all know the end is coming. Well, you gotta be prepared, and you ain’t gonna have time to memorise a whole bunch of stuff when it happens.
You need a short guide to surviving the rise of the undead, covering you all the way from A to Z… You need … Haiku of the Dead!
Don’t lose sight of this:
Killing is a last resort
All life is precious
A large handled knife
Is the handiest weapon
Fighting close quarters
It’s sharp, portable
It never needs re-loading
Or sourcing bullets
When seeking supplies
Raid the local museum
For some knight’s armour…
Life on waterways
Has its pull, esp for sleeping
Moor away from land
Turn the engine off.
Keep an eye out for floaters.
Keep kayak handy
Try learning knitting
It’s a practical skillset
With BIG old needles!
“You wrote this as part of a month-long challenge? What?!”
Throughout April, I will be joining the A to Z Challenge, posting six days a week to cover each letter of the alphabet… even that annoying “X”… For my theme, I have gone down the well-trodden, stereotypical, bit-of-a-cliché -really path of zombie survival tips… in haiku.
With tongue firmly in cheek, I hope you will join me for the month, and beyond 🙂
There are hundreds of blogs participating – over 1900. I will be doing my best to check out as many of these as possible. You can too via this link: http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/p/a-z-challenge-sign-up-list-2016.html
Brilliant. Love this and I am definitely knitting with big needles. 🙂

If I may quote Robbie Williams from his 2000 hit Rock DJ – Can I kick it? Yes you can.
Or maybe I’m quoting A Tribe Called Quest, who had a hip-hop number with that name ten years earlier.

I’ll take the Tribe Called Quest one, if given a choice! 🙂

Knitting – check. Skills are minimal, but I can go in a straight line, at least! Kayak – check! I’m feeling better already!

And I bet you can KICK ass if needed, too!

My Knitting needles will be BIG and SHARP. Old or not, they would still do the job of a Knock-out when needed. My Knees will come in handy to fight the enemy off as well. 🙂

If you’ve got some of that armour on, then knees are definitely useful! 🙂

I’m loving all these Zombie survival tips, Al. A Knights armour is my best bet as I hate being on water.

Thanks Hugh. Best not to combine the two!

Hey. I can’t decide if I’m offended or falling in love. You ARE talking only about the S&S zombies, right?

What’s an S&S Zombie? I hope it’s the latter of those two options… 😉

S&S zombies are the Slow & Stupid ones. If you’re interested, I invite you to read my earlier posts. What most of the world doesn’t realize is how many of us are normal-ish looking, and not particularly interested in supporting an apocalypse. Undead “life” has its challenges, but it beats killing off humanity in my book!

I have checked them out – I applaud your attempts to integrate. Re S&S – there is no other type, surely? 🙂

Of course there are, but how would anyone know unless they were one?

Dead life is not life. But those who survive, even if not worthy, still carry humanity’s torch 🙂 Not that I’ve thought about this at all… 😉
