Y is for … (2 of 2)

Yesterday, the world was young,
Then everything got turned
Mother Nature got her payback
On lessons never learned

Last week, the world was young
I’ve been running ever since
All those friends lost that way
Memories make me wince

Last month, the world was young
It seems so far away
Foraging for lifelines
Surviving day by day

Last year, the world was young
And I have grown so old
The horrors of the world reborn
Innocence bought and sold

I remember when the world was young,
Full of hope and love, and free
One day it may be young again
Our humanity holds the key

  1. Fabulous. If only we would learn, it’s all so frustrating! So many countries around the world who are only starting on their journey to be industrialised… I will miss my commenters now the challenge is over, and also miss the challenge, I write better with a deadline! Congratulations on reaching the end, as i know you will, there being only the one more day for you! http://www.lizbrownleepoet.com

    • Thanks Liz. Final post is queued up and ready… I write better with a deadline too, but it does end up pushing me into a love/hate relationship with it by the end!

I look forward to reading more of your work, both online and offline 😀

Thank you for making me think, again. And yes, I need to get some sleep. This may be my last comment for the night. I hope 😉
