Day 24 of your Essential Guide to Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse… The end’s in sight…
You will no doubt be absolutely thrilled that I plan on collating these guides, along with some extras, into my first self-published book! Watch this space. Well, not literally this one as I’m unlikely to come back and add comments specifically here, but, you know, here. 🙂
Without further ado, it’s … Haiku of the Dead!
Xenophobia
Persists – it’s in our nature –
But borders have shrunk
To survive, you need:
The brains of Professor X
And the X Factor
(Being candid here,
I welcome these zombie days
If it means an end
To bland TV shows
Full of so-samey singers
Each on a “journey”)
Have you ever tried
Thwacking Zed with xylophone?
Not recommended!
“You wrote this as part of a month-long challenge? What?!”
Throughout April, I will be joining the A to Z Challenge, posting six days a week to cover each letter of the alphabet… even that annoying “X”… For my theme, I have gone down the well-trodden, stereotypical, bit-of-a-cliché -really path of zombie survival tips… in haiku.
With tongue firmly in cheek, I hope you will join me for the month, and beyond 🙂
There are hundreds of blogs participating – over 1700. I will be doing my best to check out as many of these as possible. You can too via this link: http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/p/a-z-challenge-sign-up-list-2016.html
Xactly! Lots of fun…

I think that’s a great idea to collate these guides into a book. I hope it causes enough fuss to wake the dead, though not literally of course. Teens and X Factor contestants are more than enough Undead then I can take.

Thank you… although now I have alienated teenagers and X Factor fans … wonder who else I can upset in the remaining two days?!

Oh my god! Wow! Wait, I thought you’d been laid off from your job… This is a new one? And you’ve left it? It must’ve been awful. Hope I’ve got my facts straight, there. Oh I hope you find something better! xo

I was in a notice period for redundancy, but I’ve quit immediately… need to find another job, and fast!

Damn! Why can’t we make a living doing this lovely thing called writing? Sigh… I will send positive employment thoughts out into the universe, my friend! Best of luck!

HaHa! I love the ‘journey’ you went on with this, I can’t bear the X Factor sob stories either! 🙂

What I don’t understand (and I really don’t watch it these days so this may not be the case now), is why, if they’re trying to stand out, all the stories they tell to get us to feel/vote for them are basically the same…

I also don’t watch it anymore, In fact I only ever liked it when they auditioned the no-hopers! surely, they would want to be voted on for their talent not their lives?!
